The Core

Title: The Core

On this episode, we interview Amanda Ting who received her doctorate in Physical Therapy at The George Washington University in 2011 where she set her sights on Dance Medicine. Before going into the profession, she was a member of a nationally ranked dance team and a member of the hip-hop group, Fusion. After graduating, she moved to New York to be a physical therapist for Performing Arts Physical Therapy where she regularly works with Broadway performers and members of the Paul Taylor Dance Company. Amanda is also physical therapist and trainer at Mark Fisher Fitness.

Our mission: On Physiotherapy Performance Perspectives (PPP), Jenna and Marissa interview Physical Therapists who specialize in and love treating performing artists. In this monthly podcast, we aim to help performing artists gain a better understanding of how their body works, how to reduce risk of injury, what Physical Therapy for performing artists entails, and how to maximize performance potential.
