Cross-training for Dancers
Title: Cross-training for Dancers
On this episode, we interview Dr. Anna Cerveny. Dr. Anna Cerveny is a graduate of Columbia University and a dancer! After spending a year as the physical therapist for the international tour of the Broadway production of WarHorse, she is currently employed at University Hospitals as a senior physical therapist and dance rehabilitation specialist where she is part of the development of a multi-disciplinary dance medicine and rehab program. She is also the Director at the Cleveland Dance Project, a performance and choreography outlet for adults in the Cleveland area. Dr. Cerveny also treats a wide variety of patients in an outpatient orthopedic setting, including performing artists and athletes.
Our mission: On Physiotherapy Performance Perspectives (PPP), Jenna and Marissa interview Physical Therapists who specialize in and love treating performing artists. In this monthly podcast, we aim to help performing artists gain a better understanding of how their body works, how to reduce risk of injury, what Physical Therapy for performing artists entails, and how to maximize performance potential.
